The initiative has an educational objective, directly targeting the children, and aims at attracting the attention of the society as a whole to their road safety.<\/strong><\/p>\nDuring the 2018\/2019 school year, there will be carried out trainings for 2350\u00a0children of 2 to 4 grades on the territory of the municipality. Almost 90\u00a0volunteers of companies and institutions of Shumen are expected to take part in the initiative, meeting with the children and presenting to them in a funny, interesting and memorable way the information of how they can travel safely in cars. The kids will also watch cartoons showing the threats associated with having a ride without a belt and why it always has to be fastened.<\/p>\n
The Mayor of Shumen, Lyubomir Hristov, explained that \u201cThe main idea is to make the children something like belt inspectors, who are in charge of the belt fastening in the family cars. In this way, the whole family will be involved in the road safety issue.\u201d<\/p>\n
The official statistics of the Ministry of Interior is more than shocking. To date, 467\u00a0people have died on the road, while during the past 2017, the number was 682. For the 12\u00a0months of the past year, 1110\u00a0car crashes with seriously injured children were registered in our country. The fatalities were 36, and 27 of them died in cars, while their parents were driving.<\/p>\n
